The Bad Action
Not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. (Luke 15:13)
He arose and walked away from his father.
He chose distance, independence, and a life apart from the one who loved him.
The Good Action
“I will arise and go to my father.” (Luke 15:18)
He arose and went back to his father.
He remembered who his father was. He knew how well his father treated even his servants. That is why he was willing to return, not demanding his position as a son, but asking to be received even as a servant.
He knew that being in his father’s house was better than being in a foreign country.
The same son.
The same ability to act.
But a different direction.
You can arise and walk away, or you can arise and go back to the Father.
Your next action can change the direction of your life.
