Did you know there are 24 hours in a day? It seems like a silly question but many seem to forget this. Time is flying by, the days are shorter and 24 hours don’t seem like enough anymore. Think about it, let’s go through your day. You wake up, maybe have a bite, go to work, have lunch, perhaps work overtime, get stuck in traffic, get home, have dinner, watch your latest series, scroll through social media and fall asleep. Can you identify with this pattern? Something seems to be missing. There was no time for reading the Bible or praying. This is how many people’s days have been going.
Interestingly enough, there seems to be time for so many other things, but when it comes to the things of God, there “isn’t enough time” or “we are too tired.” These excuses have unfortunately separated many from God. Although, the vanity of this world may be shiny, don’t fall for it.
“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” What profit has a man from all his labor in which he toils under the sun?” Ecclesiastes 1:2-3
Having time for yourself, your family, your friends, is not a problem, don’t be mistaken. However, when everything else begins to take the place of God, there lies a problem. An excuse will always arise for you not read the Bible. After a long day, you may not feel like praying, but don’t give into the distractions of life.
Put God first. Before the hustle and bustle of the day, give your first moments to God and see how smoothly your day will flow. Give it a try. Make God a priority and He will be with you in all that you do.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
