How does a television operate? I don’t mean how do the channels turn or how it gives off an image. I mean in a very simple way, what is the basic requirement for a TV to work? It has to be connected to a power source. If it is not plugged in or doesn’t remain plugged in, it will not work.
The same applies to our life.
Some people think that fasting is just a religious tradition created by churches. But little do they know that fasting is so much more than that. When you fast, your spirit itself is praying. Not just your mouth, but your spirit is directly linked to God.
You know, when you pray, God hears, but the devil can also listen to that prayer. But not when you fast. When you fast, your mouth is not praying, but your spirit is. It’s like your body is enlightened and satan can not touch you.
It’s like the scripture says,
“Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses…” Jude 9
If they devil was fighting for the body of Moses, imagine what he is willing to do for the soul! God had to send His angel to stop satan from touching Moses’ body. And when you fast, God does the same. He sends you help in your time of deepest need, and satan can not touch you.
Fasting is the strongest prayer for deliverance, healing, to help you conquer, and so on.
Fast for you deliverance, for your case, for your family, your marriage, and most importantly for your salvation.
Just remember, when you fast, don’t try to entertain yourself or be distracted with outside distractions. The power of the fast comes from staying in spirit… staying connected to God.
Even if you don’t fast for a very long time, but you make sure to remain in spirit, that fast will be effective.
