As time passes, you realize that what was expensive, pleasant, and valuable is no longer so precious.

Going back in time, you might remember the fashion in the 60’s or 70’s, or maybe you heard your parents and grandparents talking about how special and noteworthy it was to have cars like your grandpa drove. But if you compare those cars to the cars nowadays, you will quickly realize that they are no longer the “people’s choice”.

The world has changed… and with it, the human beings taste has as well. Why? Because everything passes.

Let’s say you buy a brand new car (a fancy car… latest… and most expensive one). That car will surely be old after ten years. Even if you keep it in the garage and never drive it, the model will still get older and older every day.

Spiritually speaking, you cannot make anything or anyone on this earth your treasure.

What happens with the treasures of the earth?

They get old and no longer wanted. They expire, rust, and thieves steal them. But the real treasure in heaven cannot rot, as the bible says:

“But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”(Matthew 6:20)

Make Jesus your Treasure, and nobody will be able to steal your happiness, inner peace, and the salvation of your soul.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Bira Joshua
