Some things can’t be mistaken for another. For example, you cannot mistake hot for cold, up and down, light and dark, and so on. That being said, we all have to take a stance to decide which side we choose and settle on.

The disciples also had a choice. They were told to remain in Jerusalem because a promise was coming to them.

“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’” Acts 1: 4-5

When you think of the world today, what words come to mind? Perhaps words such as chaos, greed, and war come to mind. After all, that seems to be the case wherever you look; no matter what side of the world you set your eyes on, it seems as though destruction is all around!

However, the promise of the Holy Spirit is available for you today, and like the disciples, you can receive this promise. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you become the difference in a world that is filled with the spirit of evil. In the midst of killing, stealing, and destroying, you can be the difference. You can bring life and peace; you can give and build up; you can bless yourself and those around you. This is the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do not succumb to the catastrophes around the world; allow the power of God (His Holy Spirit) to use you to be different and make a difference.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
