Have you ever said something and immediately wished you could take it back? A joke that hurt. A comment was said out of anger—A moment where silence would have been better.
Words seem small, but they carry weight. They can uplift someone or crush them, heal or wound, encourage or destroy.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)
Sometimes, the problem is at home, work, or even in church. It isn’t a big fight, but careless words spoken over time. A sarcastic tone. A harsh reply. A whisper behind someone’s back. These little things grow into big problems.
Jesus said we will account for every idle word (Matthew 12:36)—That’s how serious it is.
However, the opposite is also true: a kind word, a word of encouragement, a prayer spoken in faith can transform someone’s entire day or even their life.
So today, think before you speak. Are your words bringing life or death? Healing or harm? You don’t need to be a preacher to change lives. Sometimes, all it takes is one word—spoken with love.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
