You open your eyes first thing in the morning and grab your phone to check the time. Unintentionally, you’ve spent 10 minutes scrolling through social media. Now you’re late, so you quickly get ready, grab your things, and rush out the door. You forgot something, or better yet, Someone…

We prioritize the things we consider important. For some, career is at the top of the list; for others, it is family, education, and financial gain; everyone has something at the top of their list. Whatever is deemed most important gets the most time and attention. As you think about your life right now, where does most of your time go? What is your first thought in the morning? What has been given the most honor in your life?

It is truly something to think about. Especially for those who claim a life of faith. Look at what the Word of God says about honor:

“A son honors his Father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, where is My honor?”

Malachi 1:6

It is a question that we must all ask ourselves. The answer becomes clear when we think about the previous questions. We can see the cold, hard facts of who or what is most important to us, and perhaps it isn’t what you expected. Maybe you have been putting everything and everyone in the first place, and God has been on the back burner.

Maybe things have been especially hard lately, and you wonder why. Start honoring God, putting Him in the first place. Allow Him to be the most important in your life and as you honor Him, He will never forget about taking care of you.

May the God of the Bible bless you
