Most people are preparing for the New Year.

Some are preparing a new diet.
Some are preparing to go to college.
Some are preparing to have a family.
Some are preparing to start a business.
Some are preparing to travel.
Some are preparing to buy a home/car.

Even kids make preparations; I believe many kids are already preparing for their 2023 birthday celebration!

There is no problem to make preparations; they allow us to plan ahead which makes life much easier right?

Even though this statement is correct it is also very dangerous! Take a quick look at the preparation list above once again! What do you notice?

Did you notice that only good things were listed? I believe you did, but come on, let us be real. Take a look back at 2022 and answer this question: Did you experience only good things? I am sure your answer is no.

Everything in life must have balance and the Word of God is the greatest example of this. Even though it is filled with more than eight thousand promises, God made it a point to prepare us for the bad days too.

Take look at this Bible Verse:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2

God did not say “IF” but He said “WHEN”. Like any good father, God is preparing us for the not-so-good days.

Are you experiencing one of those days today?
Don’t worry, He is the best father and He will never tell you a lie. His word says the following; “I will be with you!”

This is the greatest preparation – making you aware that problems will come but He will always be there with you to solve them.

If you enter this New Year with this mind set, you will overcome all the problems you will face, instead of being overcome by them.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
