Trying new things can be daunting, whether it’s a new dish or a new experience. However, it’s important to remember that sometimes you have to take a chance and try something before you know if you like it or not.

Think about it: have you ever tried something you thought you wouldn’t like, only to discover that it was actually enjoyable? Maybe you were hesitant to try sushi because you didn’t like the idea of raw fish, but then you tasted it and found it delicious. Or perhaps you were unsure about trying spicy food, but then you gave it a chance and found that you loved the heat.

The same principle applies to other areas of life, including our relationship with God. Maybe you’re hesitant to commit yourself to Him and leave behind your old ways, but you won’t know how fulfilling it can be until you take that step.

As Psalm 34:8 says, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”

Sometimes you hear others speak about God’s goodness, and you question, thinking, “I have never seen His power in my life.” You may even say, “God is good all the time,” without reflecting His glory in your own lives. But just like trying new food, we must take the plunge and experience God’s goodness for ourselves.

To do this, we must first commit ourselves to Him by putting our faith in Him and taking a leap of faith. By doing so, we can discover the blessings of following the Almighty.

So if you’re hesitant about committing yourself to God and following His teachings (leaving behind your old sinful ways), remember the words of the Psalmist.

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalms 34:8)

Trust in the Lord and taste His goodness; you will not regret it.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
