Everyone has experienced feeling ill at one point or another. Whether it was a common cold, an intense headache or unfortunately, a more serious health issue. The main thing needed in that moment is relief. Being ill is no picnic! The only thing that the mind focuses on are the symptoms: the runny nose, the aching body, the throbbing head pain, etc..

Eventually, the body fights back and those symptoms fade away.

However, there are some things that even he strongest medicine can’t cure. One example is the pain of the soul. We are no longer strangers to disease. We have seen it all around us, especially in the past 2 years; but what about the disease that works in silence, that is hidden deep within the soul?

Depression.

The signs and symptoms are clear. A person has no peace, at times no desire to do anything, be with anyone, or go anywhere. Its symptoms are constant and at times it seems there is no relief.

But there is.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Psalms 42:11”

Maybe your soul has been cast down and you wonder if those feelings will ever fade away. Hope in God. When the Word of God enters your life it brings relief, not temporarily relief but a permanent one. He helps you and bring healing to your soul.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
