In order for an invitation to be seen as the best yet, it must be an invitation to an event or place that you have never been to before or that outshines the rest.
Imagine someone handing you an envelope with, ‘the best invitation ever’ printed on the front, but when you open it, you see an invitation to the corner store! You’d be pretty upset or disappointed to say the least. Why? Because anyone can tell that there is nothing special about going to the corner store! (No offence to corner stores, they do help out a lot when quick items are needed).
On the other hand, imagine receiving an invitation in the mail and when you opened it, you see an invitation for a special audience with the President! There’s no doubt, you’d want to attend that event.
Your mind would quickly start to imagine all the benefits of attending such an event. The best food would be offered, the best security would be present, a lot of important people would be attending, maybe even presidents from other countries. It would be an exciting opportunity. I am sure that invitation would leave a mark in your life. It may even be considered as the most memorable day of your life.
Allow me to share something with you. Your life is meant to be that attractive invitation. An invitation for those who see it to come to know the true and living God.
Don’t accept to be just a believer. Strive to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus so that others will see Him in your life and in your character; so that they can have the desire to serve God as well.
Take a look at this Bible verse. People were amazed when they saw the difference in Peter and John after they had an encounter with the Lord Jesus.
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13 NKJV
Maybe you don’t even see yourself as a believer these days. The only thing you see is despair and disappointment. But I can tell you this; no matter how your life is today… even if it’s in a dark bottomless pit. It can change so quickly, you will be shocked at what happened. There is no dress code or special requirement. Just come to Jesus as you are.
The first step is to accept this invitation.
