When we start something the right way, there’s a certainty we have that everything will go well. A recipe, a home project, a new job. When we have the right tools and we’ve read all of the instructions, we know within ourselves that everything will go well. This applies to anything we do in life. We have to start well in order to end well.

We are just a week into a new year and maybe it seems that you have begun this year in suffering. Perhaps just moments after saying, “Happy New Year!” things went south for you. You had great expectations for this year but it seems like nothing has changed. You went to sleep and simply woke up to the same thing. New Year was just a change in the calendar day but nothing has really become new.

The word of God says:

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Revelation 22:13

Jesus is the Beginning and the End and whenever we begin something with Him, He makes certain that we end well. Perhaps this was what was missing last year in your life: a relationship with Him. When we begin something well with God there’s no way that we cannot end it well. God doesn’t fail. What better way to begin a new year than putting it in God’s hands? When you make the decision to live with God in control of your life, yes problems will still come. Your faith will be tried and tested. But even though, God still doesn’t fail. You will come out tops.

Allow God to make this difference in your life this year. Maybe you say, ‘I’ve been so far from God for so long, where would I start?’ Well it’s a new year and that means that you can make new decisions. Let this be the beginning of the transformation that you have been searching for.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
