How often do we wait for everything to be perfect before starting something? Whether it’s beginning a new project, improving your health, or even building a better relationship with someone, we often hold back because we feel we’re missing something. But you don’t have to have everything in place to get started. You just need to take the first step!

Think about someone preparing for a marathon. They don’t wait until they’re in the best shape of their life to start training. They begin where they are, one step at a time. It’s the same with faith and life—you take the first step, trusting that more will follow.

There’s a powerful example of this in the Bible. When the Israelites were at the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army behind them, God told Moses to take action, even though the way wasn’t clear yet. He was instructed to lift his rod over the water, and only then did the sea begin to part. Moses didn’t wait for the sea to split before he raised his rod. He acted in faith, and God responded.

The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” (Exodus 14:15-16)

God was teaching them—and us—that it’s about taking the first step in faith, even when we don’t see the full picture yet. When you move forward, God moves with you. He provides what’s needed along the way, but it starts with you taking that first step.

What’s your Red Sea? What’s the area in your life where you feel stuck or hesitant to move forward? Take that step today. If you’re waiting for everything to line up perfectly, you might wait forever. But if you trust God and start walking in faith, you’ll see doors open, obstacles removed, and His power revealed.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
