Smile for the camera. If you look back at old photos perhaps you will see smile after smile. But think, during those periods of your life, were you truly happy or did you simply smile for a photo? It can become quite easy to ‘play the part’. It’s very easy to be deceptive. Not in a way at that hurts others but in the way that hides the truth and hurts ourselves.
A deceptive smile, laugh, gesture, saying you are ok when you are not. You may have become used to putting on a show. You’ve become a great actor! But it’s time to close the curtains on that fake happiness.
“Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:24
Don’t hide your sadness, loneliness, depression or helplessness. Hiding never solved a problem. In fact, problem after problem has hit you from all sides and you try to put on a show for those around you while you hide your sorrow in secret. God sees behind the curtain. He sees when you cry at night, the emptiness that you feel. He sees your soul crying out for help and He wants to help you. Don’t put on an act with God. He wants you to tell it like it is. Be sincere, put the show to an end, so He can give you true happiness and peace.
God is not afraid of worst-case scenarios; He actually specializes in the impossible. So go ahead and open up to Him. Let Him know what’s really going on, so that you can get the solution you need.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
