Anger, frustration, sadness, disappointment. These are emotions that even the most docile person experiences from time to time.
Everyone gets upset. There are many things that can change a person’s mood. Moments of sadness happen to everyone. However, we can not allow this sadness to become a sadness of the soul. You may become upset, angry, frustrated with many situations but this sadness can not control your life. If you find that sadness is controlling your life, it has become depression.
Jacob also had a sadness. He struggled since his mother’s womb. He was born into frustration, constantly chasing after his blessing. He never seemed to be able to reach that blessing, no matter how hard he fought.
And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
However, the moment he wrestled with God, in the Ford of Jabbok, He didn’t just overcome the problem he had with his family, he overcame in everything, he let go of the frustrations, fears and sadness of his past. He no longer had to struggle for his blessing because he became the blessing.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
