In this life, nothing that we do in our own strength is guaranteed. What I mean is, whatever we try to control or master in our own strength is never guaranteed. You can be a good wife, but the husband can still find someone he thinks is more attractive and end up cheating on you. You can say, “I am a good father”, but your children can still get mixed up in the wrong crowd and get into trouble. You may say, “I am the best worker in my company”, but you can still end up being laid off. No matter how good or qualified you are, you can end up disappointed.

That’s why it is written,

“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.” Psalm 127:1

This is the truth. Unless God builds your life, your hard work is in vain, because one day evil will come and take from you everything that you built. Unless God guards your life, you strive in vain to secure yourself. Because there is no security far from Him. So many have tried doing things their own way, expecting good results and it always ends bad.

What you need to do is put God in first place in your life. Make Him the Master of your life. Put God in charge, and He will lead your life in the right way. He will guard your life from all evil.

May the God of the Bible bless you,
