There’s a well-known expression: “things that go bump in the night”, that is used to describe supernatural beings that are believed to be the source of frightening, unexplainable noises heard at night. It is actually more commonly used by children who are afraid of the dark. However, there are many who fear the darkness and uncertainty that surround their own life.

For many, darkness doesn’t only come at night, it is an ongoing state of life for them. Depression, anxieties of life, and fear have taken over, and it seems that the light will never exist in their life again. If you are feeling this way, take a look at what the Word of God says:

“Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9

Perhaps nothing has been marvelous for you as of late. You walk around as though there is a dark cloud following you. Well, this is your opportunity to step into the light. In fact, the light that comes from God is so powerful that it is described as marvelous. How often are things described like this?

Maybe it has been a long time since you have had a marvelous day, a marvelous night of sleep, a marvelous time with your loved ones…

This is your opportunity. Step into the light. Turn your troubles over to God and ask Him to let His light shine on you. There is no darkness that God isn’t able to pull you out of. Test and see.

May the God of the Bible Enlighten you!
