“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” (Revelation 3:21)

Many seek the glory of this world. They do whatever they can get away with to achieve it. They trample on people, cheat, and play dirty. Some athletes use banned substances for the first place stand on the podium. But the glory of this world passes. Great and wealthy civilizations that one day had powerful men sitting on the throne are now buried underground. They’re discovered in excavations of ruins; completely dead, buried, and destroyed.

But there’s a glory that will never be destroyed, that will never disappear. This glory can’t be achieved with bribery, foul play, or by trampling others. Instead, to be a winner in this competition, you have to be last. ”

You have to be the least of all. To sit on the throne, you must serve, and not be served. You have to sacrifice.

Those who get used to “winning” in the corrupt manner of this world will never attain eternal life. Those who consider themselves “smart” in this world are the dumbest ones. They’re dumb because they’ll never attain eternal life. Eternal life is reserved for the pure in heart. It’s reserved for those who are strong and have a good conscience. It’s reserved for those whose desire is to serve their King.

An incorruptible crown and a place on the throne of the Lord Jesus are reserved for them. This glory is not to inflate our egos, but to give a place of honour to those who didn’t give the slightest thought to being honoured for their merits, but who sought the honour of their Lord.

Strive to be counted among the overcomers.
