The no U-turn sign is a regulatory sign.
U-turn signs are posted at intersections to indicate that the driver is not legally allowed to make a U-turn (a turn in the road to go the opposite direction).
If a driver needs to make a 180 degree turn in a place marked no U-turn, they must wait for an intersection that allows this type of turn or find an alternative route.
Now think with me, if we obey the laws of the land to prevent tragedy, how much more should we obey the instructions of the Word of God to prevent tragedies in our lives?
Take a look at this Bible verse:
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
Philippians 3:13
In simple text, this Bible verse is advising you to stop looking backwards; forget all the pains of yesterday, the mistakes of last week, last year, or years ago, and look forward toward the future promised by God. Why? Because for a long as you are looking back you can never move forward. Have you ever tried running towards something while looking behind you? (I don’t advise you to do it; you will not get very far before hitting something or falling over!)
Simply looking forward and not back at the past can prevent many tragedies from happing in your life. For example, instead of being distressed about a failure, why not focus on making sure it doesn’t happen again? Instead of worrying about a lost job, why not allow God to give you a new and better one?
It’s as simple as the No U-turn sign. Obey it, and you will be good to go.
May the God of the Bible bless you. Bishop Bira Joshua
