Bad news comes in every shape and form. It becomes very easy to melt before a problem when it’s delivered… to sink into the fear of the future. In Jacobs day, the messages came bearing bad news and it was enough to break him inside.
Then the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, “We came to your brother Esau, and he also is coming to meet you, and four hundred men are with him.” Genesis 32:6
Nowadays we have many messengers around us. For example, the doctor that comes with a bad diagnosis, a friend who breaks the news that your partner is cheating, someone who calls to say your son is on drugs. Rumors that spread about you losing your job. Even the world has it’s own messages. It has declared some diseases incurable, it tells you that if you fail too many times then there’s no hope. And the list goes on.
Here is God’s message to you: there is a way out. You have already gotten many negative messages and maybe they have left you in fear, but do not give up. God gives you the certainty today, that He is with you, and that there is a future for you. This is the message that you should keep with you. Have this certainty that no matter how many messengers approach you with negativity, the final message comes from God.
