How long do you have to live? Yes, I’m asking, how long do you have to live? Do you know? Of course not. But let’s say you have 20, 30, 40 or even 100 years left to live… how can you be sure that you will still be in faith and be spiritually strong until the end of your life?

If I buy a new car today, for a good while it shouldn’t give me any problems. I won’t even need an oil change for at least a few thousand miles. But as time goes by, no matter how fancy that car is, I will have to invest in it. It will give problems, or at least require maintenance. But the better I take care of it, the more I invest in it BEFORE it gives problems, the longer life the car will have.

It’s very similar when it comes to faith. Those who spend their life only chasing the blessings, but not investing it the Blessing that remains (the Holy Spirit), will sooner than later have problems and their life will start to break down, like a car that hasn’t been cared for.

The Lord Jesus was talking to a lady that was drawing water from a well, when He asked her for some water and she was hesitant to give it. He then spoke something very deep to her:

“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10

The woman was worried about the water that goes into the body and passes out, but Jesus wanted to give her Living Water. When you have the Living Water (the Holy Spirit) inside of you, you never thirst again. Meaning you don’t need the pleasures of the world to fulfill you. You are strong, you have peace, you are happy, you are motivated… basically, you are like a well taken care of car that runs excellent. Everything works for you.

If you want the Water that Jesus has to offer, you simply need to pour out your life like water into His hands, and He will in return give you the Water that truly quenches the thirst.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
