Imagine this: You’re about to enter a room full of opportunities, but there’s a heavy door in front of you. You push, but it won’t budge. You check for a key, but there’s no lock. Then someone tells you, “Just move it.” You hesitate. What if it’s too heavy? What if there’s something bad on the other side?
Now, think about this—what if the only thing stopping you is your own hesitation?
When Jesus arrived at Lazarus’ tomb, He told them to take away the stone. But Martha hesitated:
“Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
Jesus responded:
“Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:39-40)
Martha believed in Jesus, but only to a certain point. She trusted Him when things made sense, but now that her brother was dead, she struggled to believe.
What about you? Do you have faith, but only up to a certain point? Maybe you believe God can provide for your needs but doubt when things take too long. Perhaps you trust Him for small things but struggle to believe in the impossible. You pray, but deep down, you doubt. You want to trust, but you hesitate. You let fear and past disappointments convince you that it’s too late, too hard, too impossible.
Jesus is standing before your “stone” today, telling you to remove it. The miracle is already prepared, but He won’t force His way in—you have to take the first step.
So, what’s holding you back? Doubt? Fear? A painful past? Whatever it is, move it out of the way. Trust Him. And just like Lazarus, you’ll see life where you thought there was only death.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
