There are things in life that others can help you with or even do for you, but there are some things in life that only you can do. For example, if you are hungry, someone can prepare a meal for you, but they can not eat the meal for you. If you need help to get to a job interview, someone can even give you a ride to the interview, but they can not speak for you at the interview. If you need a job and someone helps you to get hired on somewhere, they can help you get the job, but they can not go to work for you each day. We all know that that’s how it works. Others can help, but there are things we must do for ourselves.

The same rules apply when it comes to matters of faith. God is more than willing to help us, but there are things that depend on us. It’s written;

“and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

We have to do it here on earth. It does not begin in heaven, it begins here on earth, then God in heaven will honor it. If you are facing problems, you can not expect God to magically solve them for you. He expects you to take action, to show courage and faith, and then He will react by changing your situation. The help is at hand, but it depends on you. Every action of faith that you take will be honored by a response from God. But if you do nothing, you get nothing. It depends on you.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
