How many times have you had to hide from someone because of something you did or even because of something they did to you (or your family)?

In other cases, you hide from others because of the shame caused by the problems you are facing. For example: you hide from your neighbors because of the abusive relationship you find yourself in. You hide because of your financial condition (unemployment, debt, losses, repossessions, …). Or you hide from your family because of the rebellious children you have, addictions at home, etc.

That’s when you think that nobody cares about you.

But I want to tell you that He (Jesus) cares about you; He sees you, no matter what your situation or condition is. He sees you where and how you are. So it was with both Zacchaeus (who was a thief) and Nathanael (who was religious). Both were in hiding; one above and the other below a tree. And Jesus saw them and called them to a new life.

So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. (Luke 19:4-6 – NKJV)

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!” Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” (John 1:47-48 – NKJV)

In the same way, He wants to do it in your life. He sees you and calls you, but you have to obey His call. If you obey Him, your life will never be the same.

May the God of the Bible bless you wherever you are.
