I have heard many people deceive themselves as the black sheep of their family. The one that didn’t excel like the other siblings.

Maybe they got pregnant and dropped out of high school. Maybe in a family of doctors or dentists, one wanted to do something else. Because of that, they were rejected by the family. These examples may seem understandable, but they should never be acceptable.

Picture this scenario: An older brother or sister stops going to school to work and helps the younger sister complete her education. He even financed her college years. Everything he wanted was placed on hold to help this younger sibling establish a good life.

Now, can you imagine this sister rejecting him after all the sacrifices of the older brother? Instead of being grateful, she calls him names like foolish and uneducated! Wow! How disrespectful.
This older brother gave his life for the sake of his younger sibling, only to be rejected.

Even though this is a simple scenario, I am sure you felt anger and disappointment towards the younger sibling. You might even call her ungrateful. Keep this thought with you when you read this Bible verse:

He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. (John 1:11)

If someone is not received, then they are rejected! How many people have rejected the Lord Jesus? They treat Him like the so-called “black sheep” after He gave His all (His Life) for humanity.

Don’t be among those who reject the Lord; be the grateful child, receive Him, and accept His help.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12)

If you are His child, nothing will be withheld from you; how wonderful this is. Even if you are not a parent, you understand this point very well.

Jesus should not be treated like a black sheep. How have you regarded Him?

May the God of the Bible bless you!
