What good news have you heard lately?
You passed the test!
You were approved!
You no longer have this disease!
You are hired!
You are promoted!
Your salary will be increased!
Direct deposit made to your account!
What was the good news for you, and how did you react to this good news? All of the above good news can bring joy. But what happens when you receive the opposite: bad news? How would you react if you heard:
You failed the test!
You were not approved!
You still have the disease!
You are fired!
You are demoted!
Your salary will be decreased!
Your account is in overdraft!
The good news of this world can turn into bad news in the blink of an eye. For this reason, our confidence should not be placed in the good news of this world. The best place to place our trust is in the Word of God.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)
May this Good News bring everlasting joy to your soul, knowing that the Lord Jesus already gave his life on the cross! Once you make Him your Shepherd, you will experience the benefits of Psalm 23. Go ahead and read Psalm 23 again, but not the way you usually do.
This time, read it knowing that it is talking about a relationship between the Sheep and the Shepherd (The Lord Jesus). Read it and allow the Good Shepherd to take care of your every need!
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Bira Joshua
