Becoming a doctor, a teacher, or a lawyer requires years of dedication and hard work. You might need to study for 8 to 10 years to wear a doctor’s coat. If you dream of standing in front of a classroom inspiring young minds, it might take you 4 to 6 years. And to argue cases in courtrooms as a lawyer, you look at about seven years of education and training. These professions, along with many others, demand great preparation, tireless effort, and persistence.

Amid the 21 days of the fast of Daniel, many are seeking the Holy Spirit and striving to draw nearer to God, to align more closely with His desires. Still, I want to share an encouraging truth with you: God is seeking those who are willing to serve Him, and for this, you don’t need to undergo years of preparation like a doctor, lawyer, etc. When Jesus called his disciples, they were simple fishermen. In the same way, God is looking for ‘fishermen’—not to catch fish, but to serve the Lord.

To welcome the Holy Spirit into your life, you only need to offer yourself.

The Bible says:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-20

Why not start serving God today? It could be as simple as sharing words of faith with someone going through a tough time, whether it’s a neighbor, a colleague, someone you meet during your day, or even a stranger you stand next to in the grocery line.

God is ready to use you as His instrument. Are you willing to give your time to serve the Lord?

May the God of the Bible bless you!
