Observe the greats of this world. Athletes, scientists, entertainers, entrepreneurs, etc. They all have one thing in common: endurance. When we are faced with difficulties, our first instinct is to give up. But a quitter can never achieve greatness. I’m sure that all those ‘greats’ faced obstacles and even failure, but they got back up, re-focused and persisted until they achieved their goal. Unfortunately, the same happens with many who are seeking blessings from God. They have a goal or a dream and ask God to help them achieve it, but when they face obstacles, instead of persevering, they simply quit! I repeat, a quitter can never achieve greatness, let alone the greatness of God!
… because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24: 12-13
Perhaps you’ve been in and out of tune with God, you’ve tried and failed so much that you think there is no hope for you. God isn’t looking at your past, He is looking at your future. Whether you’ve been in His presence for 50 years, 2 years, or if today is the first day you’ve ever really spoken to God. Don’t quit. He wants you to make it until the end, and He will help you every step of the way.
Finish your race. Endure, because your reward will be unlike any other.
