Do you remember that game from your childhood? You would follow whatever the “leader” did and the one that didn’t lost the game. This simple child’s game can be a great example.
Today, however the example is very different, more important, and comes with a promise.
Look at what the Bible says:
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12
A new year has come and many started their first few minutes of this year gazing at beautiful lights and sparkles, but are still living a life of darkness. Perhaps this was your case too. But that doesn’t mean you can’t turn this year around.
God is directing us to follow Him because He is the light of the world. In a world that is filled with so much darkness, sickness, addiction, depression and loneliness, God is promising to fill your life with light if you choose to follow Him.
What has been the darkness in your life? Has it followed you into this new year?
Look to God… look to His light. Allow Him to be your leader this year and follow Him, with the innocence and obedience you had as a child. His promise is to fill your life with light.
