It’s usually very hard to hide how we are feeling. The first thing that exposes our true feelings is usually our face. Our expressions normally tell others if we are angry, happy, sad, frustrated, etc. Our face gives us away.

However, there is one part of us that no one can see and no camera can capture. It is hidden deep within. Many forget about it. One day King David asked this part of himself a particular question, and perhaps you can relate to how he was feeling at that time:

“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God;” Psalms 43:5

Who can see the soul? Only God. The truth is that no matter how joyful the expression on a person’s face may be, no one truly knows what is going on deep inside. Perhaps you feel this way; “cast down.” You’re experiencing it deep within your soul, but you flaunt a smile to mask it. You laugh so that others won’t ask questions, and you suffer in silence. There is hope for you. The One who deals with the soul is able to bring you hope and joy. You don’t need to put on a false smile. When you put your hope in God, He brings you a life of peace. He brings joy to your soul and lifts you up. Put away that false expression and allow God to give you true happiness.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
