It has been said that humans have one of two key instincts kick in when faced with a crisis: fight or flight. Both, are working for the same goal: survival. When someone is in the middle of being robbed for example, they will either immediately hand over their valuables to the assailant or fight for what is theirs. Although, it’s never recommended to put one’s self in harms way just to save material things. The same cannot be said for one’s own life.

Many have had a crisis of life and at this very moment are thinking that there is no way out. They have found themselves at the bottom of a never-ending pit of problems and it seems there is no solution for them. But there is a solution.

“I called on Your name, O Lord, From the lowest pit.” Lamentations 3:55

We all have two options when faced with a problem: to fight or to flight (or rather, to give up). Which one will you take? Maybe you are about to give up because you have been in a pit for so long. You find yourself so deep and no one is stretching out a hand to help you.

Perhaps your rescue wasn’t meant to come from other people. They themselves are probably struggling in their own pit! Call upon God from whatever low point you find yourself in right now. It isn’t too late. Actually, when we imagine someone stuck in a pit it seems like an impossible situation but that is exactly where this verse tells us to call out from because even if no one else hears you, God definitely will.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
