What is fear? One definition states that it is ‘strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.’ There are so many who live in this state of fear. They are afraid to go to the doctor and receive bad news. They fear losing a loved one, losing their job, getting close to people. Their mind has become their own worst enemy. However, the Word of God teaches us that God does not desire for us to live in fear, but in power.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power…” 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear can often stunt us. If you are not careful life can pass you by while you are stuck in fear. Perhaps you can think of things right now that you have missed out on because of fear. Put an end to this mindset. Your spirit (mind) can no longer be a playground for fear. Instead, take on the spirit of power.

Recognize Who it is that you depend on. If your dependence is on God then you can count on Him to go before you in all that you do. Go to the doctor in power and receive that excellent checkup result. Place your family members in God’s hand and determine their protection. Go after that new job. You are powerful when you receive a new mind from God. Ask God for a new mind and receive His power.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
