Many people can recite some Biblical passages by heart—being a believer or not. Whether learning it in school or as a child in the church, these verses remain ever-present in people’s minds. However, the Word of God isn’t simply a book of words to recite. The words on the pages restore life, and in the darkest moments, the Word of God brings light.
For example, when a person faces spiritual attacks. Whether it be nightmares, anxiety, depression, or inexplicable events that occur in their life, it’s easy to simply fold under the pressure and decide that there is no solution. But there is, and a prime example of that solution is in a commonly known verse:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4
Yes, in those moments when evil attacks, the Bible says that God is our rod and staff, and there is no need to fear. How many times have you recited this verse but never truly held firm to that Word and believed it would take you out of your problem? The Bible is no ordinary book. If you are walking through the valley right now, believe that God is in control, and He will comfort you. There is no need to fear when you call upon Him.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
