To despise:
To feel a strong dislike for: to feel a strong dislike for someone or something because you think that that person or thing is bad or has no value:

How many people suffer traumas because they were despised by a family member?
They were even told the following: “I despise the day I had you!” Can you imagine hearing that from a parent? How hurtful that must be!

How about hearing the following from a spouse: “I despise the day I married you!”

Despise is a very strong word and should only be used in cases like these:
You should despise a life of oppression.
You should despise a life of addiction.
You should despise a life of lacking.
You should despise a life of failure.

When you despise a life that is contrary to the Word of God then you are ready to embrace the promises of God! For this reason, you should not despise prophecies!

“Do not despise prophecies.”
I Thessalonians 5:20

It is so important that it was written in the Word of God! Prophecies are the promises of God found in His Word!

It does not matter what you need: healing, deliverance, peace, abundance, salvation: the answer can be found in the Word of God.

It is all up to you, you have the option to embrace it, fight for it and enjoy it, or you can despise it! What is your decision?

May the God of the Bible bless you!
