The first time someone tried drugs.
The first time someone tried alcohol.
The first time someone smoked.
The first time someone attends a party.

The first time someone tried drugs, I doubt they had in mind a life of addiction. Yet, how many lives have ended from a drug overdose? For the ones that are hooked, if you ask them why they tried drugs the first time, they would probably reply like this: I was curious about how it would make me feel…

And the answer would pretty much be the same for all the others:
I drank because I was curious…
I smoked because I was curious…
I went to the party because I was curious…

How many kids are told to not touch a hot iron, and what they do? Go right ahead and touch the iron or socket.

Have you ever heard this saying: curiosity killed the cat?

Many people are losing their lives today because of curiosity. Do you remember yesterday’s post with the example of Lot’s wife? Because of curiosity and disobedience, she turned into a pillar of salt.

“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.” (Genesis 19:17).

This was a warning in Bible days and is still a warning today! Will you pay attention to this warning and obey, or will you let curiosity get the best of you?

Escape with your life; stop doing the things that will consume your life!

May the God of the Bible bless you!
