Jesus taught us how to Pray: “Give us today our daily bread.”

Why? Because when many people get blessings in their lives they easily turn back on Jesus.

How many people come to church in search of natural bread (blessings) – a good job, healing, family blessings, etc., and after getting those blessings, they leave the church and forget all about God?

Will those blessings last forever? Even if they did, you would not be around forever to enjoy them!

The word of God says: “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?” Luke 12:20.

The blessings you conquer here on earth cannot replace Jesus in your life. Has Jesus been your priority?

Satan is deceitful, and he will capitalize on your desires. For example, if your priority is your love life, Satan will keep you occupied with issues concerning love in order to distract you from seeking God.

If your priority is your finances, you’re going to have your hands full of money, riches, assets, etc., all to make you believe that you have everything you need and that you don’t need to seek God. He convinces you that you are ‘blessed’ when, in fact, these things are not blessings at all. They are distractions.

Don’t get me wrong. You need to work, support your family, and have material blessings. But above all, you need to prioritize your soul.

When you die, everything stays behind, and everything will pass. But the true bread, the Lord Jesus, provides for your physical and spiritual needs.

Don’t confuse blessings with distractions!

May the God of the Bible bless you,
