Imagine receiving an invitation to an exclusive event that had waited a long time for. To say you would be happy is an understatement! Everyone will see the glow on your face and your smile that goes from ear to ear.
To attend the event, you will dress to impress – because, “appearance is everything.” When you arrive, you see the doorman at the door with the guest list and that only makes you feel even more special.
Finally, you are next in line. You give your name, but to your surprise, the doorman says, “I’m sorry, your name is not on the list. Next in line, please!”
How embarrassing! Especially when you prepared so much for that event. You turn away and seem inconsolable. You don’t even want to speak with anyone.
I want you to know that there is a special event that you are certainly welcome to attend. However, it will not take place here on earth. It is in heaven.
“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” Revelation 20: 12
We are all invited to heaven. A place where there will be no embarrassment, no sickness, no pain, no more hiding pills or trying to prove that you are someone that you are not. God has a future for you that includes perfect peace. The kind of peace that cannot be experienced on this earth.
But in order to receive entry into this perfect destination, you need to give up living in accordance to your own will (your fleshly will) here on earth.
Listen, we all have problems that we face, but God wants to help you get past those problems and look ahead to a brighter future. Of course, you should not put your whole life on hold and just wait to be happy in heaven. But knowing that there is something so much greater ahead for you, will encourage you to remember that if God has something so great waiting for you, for eternity, why would He not want to give you health and happiness in this world today? Think about it, and start to invest in preparing for your heavenly event. As you do this, God will supply your day-to-day needs.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
