Do you ever feel like you don’t fit in with the rest of those around you?
If you don’t yet, you will soon… if you are serious about your faith. No one that truly gives his life to God fits into the world around him. It’s not possible. Why not? You may ask. Because the things that the world does is not for you anymore.
For example, what do your co workers and neighbors do on the weekend? Most probably go out to party and to the night clubs to “have fun”. Of course they will invite you to go, and will even say that you are too religious or acting holier than thou, if you refuse to go. But how can you give in and go with them if you know it is not good for your faith. And this doesn’t only apply to things like partying, but it applies to everything.
Look what Paul told Timothy about dealing with this world,
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
(2 Timothy 2:4)
We are entangled in warfare. We are fighting against evil everyday and have no time to get tied up in the things that the world is doing. I’m not suggesting that you act better than anyone, but the truth is, if you serve God, you just can not agree or follow the things that are being done in this world. What it calls fun is bad for your faith. So how can you please God and please the world, or people who are still worldly? It will never work.
Those who have the desire to truly live for God must be prepared to lose friends and places that they used to be well acquainted with. Yet, they will gain peace and joy from God. And of course, the greatest thing is everlasting life.
The faithful must be faithful, no matter the cost. The rest will not remain with in faith forever.
May the God of the Bible bless you
