Everyone has faced the disappointment of buying a product or item that promises so many great things, but in the end, doesn’t fulfill what it promised.
You may have in mind; that face cream you bought that promised you younger-looking skin. What about the weight loss pill that was supposed to help you lose 2 pounds every week? Still, the only thing you remember losing was your money. And let’s not even talk about the “wonderful” cleaning product that says it would clean effortlessly.
Whilst words are not enough to prove everything, actions reveal the truth.
In the same way, we can imagine a person that gets married, trusting in the words of the soon to be spouse. Only to end up suffering from infidelity, disagreements, frustrations, and a broken heart. The lovely words and promises were no more than just words. What a disappointment!
The words we choose to say can describe us, but our actions prove who we are.
You may go to a church and say, “Lord, I love you,” but then your actions show that you love money, your family, your child, a degree, or even yourself more.
Worshiping God and saying how much you love Him is necessary, but actions that match your words are just as essential.
Let’s take action and practice what the Bible teaches;
“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
I John 3:18
You should give God your best worship, because He appreciates that. But don’t forget to back up that worship with actions of faithfulness, taking time with Him, dedicating yourself to serving Him, being faithful through your tithes and offerings, and loving Him above all things and all people.
If God is number one in your life, then your actions should speak louder than your words do.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
