It’s frustrating, but it can happen to us all.
Have you ever looked at a dessert and expected it to be delicious, then on the first bite, found it tasted awful? Or have you booked a vacation package to a place you saw in a magazine hoping it would be the best trip ever, but when you got there, it was a waste of time and money because the place was not what you expected? What about that advertisement for a product that promises a miracle? You bought it expecting the product to do at least one of the promised things but in reality, it was a disappointment.
There are many times we had good expectations, but the reality turned out to be a nightmare. It can be a place, food, clothes, things, people… the list goes on.
Have you ever stopped to think that God faced the same kind of disappointment?
He created the first man (Adam) to be His son, who would obey and be like Him. Unfortunately, man chose to sin and disobey the Almighty, wasting the most honorable opportunity to be called and considered a child of God.
But the good news is that you and I have the opportunity to be children of God. But for that, God expects you to be like Him as a child looks and behaves like his parents.
You have the right to become a child of God because God loves you, as the Bible says:
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us” Ephesians 2:4
But simply believing in God, going to church, and praying does not make you a child of God.
Leave sins and an impure life behind, seeking the Holy Spirit is a must. It is also a daily sacrifice. There is no vacation from serving God. However, the results are also eternal. You become a child of God and will inherit the most precious possession: the salvation of your soul.
Take an honest look at how you have been living and make the necessary adjustments so that God will not feel disappointed when He looks at you.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
