It can be argued that a meal is just a meal, no matter where it comes from. However, we know this isn’t true. Imagine a meal created by you. Every spice, texture and flavor was put there by you. When you eat that meal you are satisfied with yourself because you know it was made by your own two hands. On the other hand, there’s an uncertainty that comes with grabbing a quick bite of fast food. You aren’t sure what was used to make it, where those ingredients came from or whose hands prepared that meal. The same way not every meal is the same, not every Christian is the same.
We can spot a clear difference when something is made by us and it is no different when it comes to our spiritual lives. There’s a clear difference between those who are created by God and those who are born of God.
Everyone can prepare a meal but not everyone is a chef. Everyone can declare the name of Jesus but not everyone is His child. Perhaps you have recognized that you are part of this first group and are ready to be God’s child. Here’s a recipe for you:
Step 1. Be baptized. This is a great first step. You are recognizing your mistakes and deciding to leave them behind.
Step 2. Seek the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God living inside of you. Although you follow step one, you will stain have to face all the trials and temptations of this world. The Holy Spirit secures your salvation and is what truly makes you a child of God.
Although this recipe may seem short, it is highly effective and life changing. Are you ready to be a child of God? Follow this recipe.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
