Imagine someone running ahead but looking behind them the entire time. Failure is the only possible end result that could come from this. I’m sure you can see that person tripping, falling and running into things. But did you know that this is how many people have been going through life?
Their past has had such a hold on them that they’re not able to move forward. One day their “normal life” turned into a life of chaos. Maybe you can relate. You once had a stable job, a happy family, a healthy body and out of nowhere it seems that it all turned into a life of disarray and you are stuck dwelling on the day that everything changed.
Or maybe you are even dwelling on:
⁃ A missed opportunity
⁃ Someone who hurt you
⁃ A time that you failed
Well, there is nothing that can be accomplished by looking at the past. Look at what the Word of God teaches us:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Isaiah 43:18
Your help will come when you look ahead. Maybe you think to yourself that you no longer have strength to look ahead but you do. The mere fact that you are here means that there is still hope and God has prepared a life even greater than the one that you imagined because this time you won’t be going at it alone, He will be with you. God is waiting for you ahead but He requires you to stand up and fight for what He has prepared for you. Look ahead, look to God and allow Him to bring you the victory in your life.
