One of the first things we learned was our name. Our parents would repeat it to us over and over again, until one day we started to respond to the sound of it.
Then we learned how to say it for ourselves. After much practice, we learned how to write it. And today we have nicknames made from it. We can probably even write it with our eyes closed. We don’t even think twice about it. Our name has just become a part of who we are.
Perhaps lately when you think of yourself you don’t think of your name. Instead, you think of the name of the disease you carry, the debt you owe, the part of your body that is in pain, the pills you have to take, and the name of the spouse who betrayed you. The names of your problems have overtaken you. Now you are not known by your name but by the name of your problems.
Unfortunately, you are known as the lady who has cancer, the man who lost his job, the girl who can never find a happy relationship. This has become your name. But the Word of God says there is a name that is bigger than all of these.
“ Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,” Philippians 2:9
The name of Jesus is above this disease, this broken home, debt, pain, unhappiness, depression. When you call upon the name of Jesus, you are calling on an all-powerful name.
You have the ability to use His name to determine your healing, restoration and freedom from every problem that has marked its name in your life. When you call on the name of Jesus, believe that His name will be exalted in your life.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
