“Sticks and stones can break your bones but words will never harm you.” Do you remember hearing that as a child? If only it were true! The average human says about 100 – 130 words per minute. Those words can be used to bring life, speak blessings and determine great things. On the other hand, they can also be used to destroy.
Perhaps one day someone used their words to tell you that you will be alone, that you will not succeed, that you will never be happy etc. Well here are a new set of words: You do not have to accept those negative words as your truth. The truth is found in the Word of God.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Matthew 24: 35
The Word of God promises life. In fact, as we celebrate the Holy Week, we remember that the Lord Jesus gave His life so that we may have life. With His sacrifice in mind, we have to make the choice to ignore the words of negativity and instead, to hold fast to the Word of God, that never changes and never fails.
May the God of the Bible bless you
