When we lose something important we don’t quit looking for it until we find it. The keys to your car, your wallet, your cellphone or wedding ring, etc., nothing stops the search for these items of value.
Why do we search for these things? Why not just let them go? Because they are significant to us. The same should be said about our faith. In fact, I will go as far as to say that faith is the greatest possession that we have here on Earth.
When a person has lost their faith, it can be seen through certain signs: They don’t pray often or even at all; they do not read the Bible and their reactions to things that happen, are fleshly reactions that show little or no trust in God. Perhaps they even refer to themselves as a believer but this is only because of tradition – it’s a label that they’ve grown up with. Perhaps you can relate? I’m not here to judge you or make you feel even worse, usually a person ends up losing their faith because of problems they have faced along the way and disappointments or unanswered questions that have slowly weakened their faith. The word of God says:
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” I John 5:4
Your faith is what allows you to overcome the problems of this world. Depression, sickness, loneliness, whatever problem you may face can be overcome by faith. You are not weak but perhaps your faith has been. If this is your case, then turn things around. Start to invest in your valuable faith. Ask God to help you find the faith that you have lost, because it is that very faith which will enable you to overcome the world.
The only one who benefits when you lose your faith is the devil because faith is the weapon that shuts him down. Do not allow the devil to make you think that you do not need faith. Sharpen this valuable tool that you have and then use it to kick him out of your life for good!
May the God of the Bible bless you
