What is the best advice that you’ve ever received?

Maybe it was help to choose a university,

Or maybe it was a friend that introduced you to your spouse.

Perhaps it was advice on a business investment…

Or it could have even been the advice from a parent, warning you about bad company.

No matter who in the world gives you advice, their advice can never compare to God’s advice. One day He advised Moses:

Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes,

Exodus 19:10

Why was this advice so important? To understand that, you must first remember that they were coming from a life of slavery in Egypt. Although they were physically out of Egypt, they continued to have Egyptian habits and mentality. They left Egypt but Egypt was still inside of them.

Egypt today is the world around us, and the habits of this world (the way that this world lives).

The world is full of all sorts of evil and darkness, and to see the greatness of God, one needs to rid themself of the ways of this world.

To cleanse your “clothes” is to remove the hate, anger, sadness, depression, vulgar living, etc. from your heart and mind. All of those things are doing you more harm than good.

Once you “sanctify” yourself (which does not mean to be perfect but involves you demanding better from yourself), you will enjoy the blessings and the presence of God.

Making God the center of your life and submitting to His instruction is the best advice you can ever receive.

May the God of the Bible bless you,
