Shame: a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.

Think of that teenage boy who was caught on camera vandalizing property and after being caught, the parent disciplines him in front of his peers… At that very moment, he feels a lot  of shame.

Another example is the person who became homeless as the result of an addiction, and now is on the street corner begging. The worst thing is when another tenant of the complex where he or she used to live, drives by and stops to give some coins. What a shameful situation that is!

Nobody likes feeling embarrassed or ashamed, but evil spirits came exactly to do that: to steal, kill and destroy – meaning they come to cause shame.

Maybe you are living with the guilt of causing shame to yourself and/or to your family. The good news is that you can start afresh at this very moment!

Take an action in faith and you can receive the strength that you need to totally change your situation.

Seek the Lord Jesus Christ for help and learn from Him how to face and overcome shame. He was put to shame but His shame turned into a GREAT victory. And that’s what He wants for your life.

His word says,

“…My people shall never be put to shame.”

Joel 2:27

That doesn’t mean shameful moments won’t come, but it does mean that shameful moments won’t break you, nor defeat you.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
