Have you ever heard or used the phrase, “don’t jinx it”? It’s the idea that if you say something good out loud, it won’t happen. It is one of the simplest examples of the power that we believe words hold.
The Bible is a confirmation of the power of our words. In Proverbs 18:21, the Bible states,
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”
For many, the words of others have been slowly killing them since they were children.
Unfortunately, many have grown up hearing that they are not good enough, that they are worthless and this has been with them all their lives. Now, these same words of death are spoken to their children, grandchildren and they even hear these words from a spouse or loved one.
Slowly they have been dying their entire lives and now, they use their words to kill others.
Has this been you? Have you been asking yourself, “Why am I not good enough?”
You have become your own worst critic. You have convinced yourself of the following:
– You feel that nothing you do is “enough”
– You can’t forgive yourself for past mistakes.
– You feel you’re not as “good as other people.”
– You have anxiety about making decisions because you’ve failed so many times in the past.
You are good enough! God has chosen you just the way you are. All your life, you’ve only heard words that have been killing you slowly, but today, you’re receiving the Word of Life. If no one has ever lifted you up, right now God lifts you up.
Speak life into yourself today and every day.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
