Have you ever been in a fight? It may not have been anything dramatic, but perhaps you grew up with siblings and you remember the days you would toss each other around the room because of simple disagreements. You remember how your heart raced, the tension, the raising of fists or even at times, objects.

This is what comes to mind when we hear the word “fight;” violence or physical interactions. However, for those who have the desire for a transformation in their life, there is a different type of fight that must happen. Those who have a relationship with God know that their fight is not with their boss, partner, children, etc. They have the understanding that in order to see God working in their life, they must fight in spirit.

Jacob, who was lead by the Spirit to the Ford of Jabbok, fought until the breaking of day. He did this to become the blessing. He recognized that his fight was not with a person, his fight was with God (not against God of course). He fought in Spirit, he gave it his all; spiritually, physically and even with his possessions.

“Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day” (Genesis 32:24)

Unfortunately, many have stopped fighting. Instead they sit idly and wait for a blessing to fall into their lap. Now is not the time to give up. Those who live by faith are not quitters. They do not throw in the towel when they see a problem. Instead, they fight in faith, with God, to see His promises become a reality in their life.

May the God of the Bible Bless You,
