The lights are dim and your emotions are in full swing as the latest soppy love song is playing and triggering all sorts of emotions: passion, happiness, love…
? ‘My mind is fixed on You’ ? goes the tune and then you start to imagine your loved one and all you see are hearts and roses. Who doesn’t want to hear those words? How beautiful to have someone tell you that their mind is fixed on you… and so all caught up in the emotion, you sing along…
STOP! Cut the music, switch on the lights and put on your fighting suit, because that’s no love song! It’s actually a war cry! It’s your secret weapon to overcomingthe negative and harmful thoughts that the devil uses totry and pull you down.
You can find these words in Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed {fixed} on You, because he trusts in You.”
Satan’s target is to have full control over your mind. Once he has this, he will decide the way that you approach life, the decisions that you take, the voices that you listen to and the ones that you don’t. The battle in the mind is a serious one. It’s what determines if you will win or lose the spiritual war!
If your mind is constantly plagued by doubts, fear, and negativity, you are less likely to take steps of faith to accomplish things. When your mind is fixed on God, it leaves no room for anything negative to enter.
How to fix your mind on God?
Read His Word daily, pray and meditate on what you read.
Live in a way that pleases Him – always thinking about what He would do in your shoes.
Find your nearest Universal Church or watch our online meetings so that your faith can be strengthened and you can learn more about God’s will for your life.
There are many other things that you can do, but I think you catch the drift. In short, don’t allow your mind to be empty. An empty mind is the devil’s workshop.
As for the beautiful love song, let’s work on fixing your life and building your faith, then you can sing all the love songs that you want!
May the God of the Bible bless you.
